Joyson Electronics Joins China Corporate Climate Action to Strengthen Climate Commitment
2026-05-28

Joyson Electronics has recently signed the China Corporate Climate Action Initiative, joining a network of companies and industry partners committed to supporting China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

China Corporate Climate Action (CCCA) is a non-profit collaborative network launched in September 2018 during the Global Climate Action Summit by the Vanke Foundation, the Beijing Entrepreneurs’ Foundation for Environmental Protection, China Champions for Climate Action, and other partners. Bringing together industry associations, companies, non-profit organizations and research institutions, CCCA aims to encourage businesses to integrate climate action into their corporate strategies, promote low-carbon transformation across value chains, and support the development of sustainable business models and climate solutions.

As a multinational manufacturing company, Joyson Electronics has made climate action an important part of its sustainability strategy and day-to-day operations. In April 2026, the company publicly announced its ambition to achieve carbon neutrality across core operations by 2040. To support this goal, Joyson Electronics is advancing initiatives across climate governance, emissions reduction, energy efficiency, renewable electricity, low-carbon product development and supply chain management.

Energy management remains a key focus of the company’s decarbonization efforts. By the end of 2025, 18 sites had obtained ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification. The company has continued to improve energy management across its operations while increasing investment in sustainable and energy-efficient technologies. In 2025, Joyson Electronics recorded an energy intensity of 11.96 MWh per RMB million of revenue, down 5.09% year on year.

Joyson Electronics also continues to strengthen carbon accounting and data management. In accordance with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol, the company completed its annual greenhouse gas inventory. Its combined Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 emissions totaled 206,002.93 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. The data was reviewed internally and verified by a third party to ensure accuracy, consistency and comparability.

Beyond its own operations, the company is extending carbon management to logistics and transportation within its sites. Measures such as optimized transport routes, higher loading efficiency and expanded use of reusable packaging are helping reduce emissions associated with the company’s value chain.

As a Tier 1 automotive supplier, Joyson Electronics also seeks to contribute to lower-carbon mobility through its products. The company integrates energy efficiency, environmental performance and recyclability into product development, with a focus on areas such as intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit systems and new energy management. In 2025, Joyson Electronics invested RMB 4.418 billion in research and development, supporting continued innovation in technologies that can help reduce lifecycle emissions across vehicles and mobility applications.

Looking ahead, Joyson Electronics will continue to expand the use of renewable electricity, solar power and energy storage, advance energy-saving upgrades across production lines, improve carbon data and management systems, develop lower-carbon products, and strengthen supply chain carbon management. The company will also translate its climate ambition into annual and site-level actions, ensuring that progress can be measured, verified and implemented effectively.

Through these efforts, Joyson Electronics aims to reduce emissions across its operations and value chain while contributing to the automotive industry’s transition toward a lower-carbon future.
