Joyson Electronics Publishes First Nature-related Disclosures Report
2026-05-13

Joyson Electronics has released its first Nature-related Disclosures Report, marking an important step in the company’s efforts to better understand, manage and disclose its relationship with nature.

As a global provider of intelligent automotive technology solutions, Joyson Electronics recognizes that its operations and value chain are closely connected to natural ecosystems. The company is committed to supporting the United Nations’ 2050 Vision and 2030 Mission for biodiversity and working with upstream and downstream partners to contribute to a nature-positive future.

To strengthen its nature-related management, Joyson Electronics has integrated topics such as climate change and biodiversity into daily decision-making and management processes. With reference to the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and its AR3T Action Framework — Avoid, Reduce, Regenerate, Restore and Transform — the company has developed a dedicated nature-related strategy. Supported by its four-tier ESG governance structure, Joyson Electronics is working to systematically identify, assess and manage its nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities.

In March 2025, Joyson Electronics became the first company in China’s auto parts industry to become a supporter of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). In July 2025, the company joined Business for Nature, working alongside global companies to address nature-related risks and contribute to global biodiversity goals. In April 2026, Joyson Electronics published its first Nature-related Disclosures Report.

The report applies the LEAP approach recommended by the TNFD — Locate, Evaluate, Assess and Prepare — to assess nature-related issues across the company’s operations and value chain. The assessment covered 89 global operating sites, including R&D centers and production facilities, as well as 8 suppliers’ sites, helping the company identify, assess and manage nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities in a structured way.

  • Under the Locate phase, Joyson Electronics used tools including IBAT, BIA and the WWF Biodiversity Risk Filter to analyze protected areas, key biodiversity areas and threatened species near its own sites and supplier locations. This process identified five priority sites in the company’s own operations and three priority sites in its supply chain.

  • Under the Evaluate phase, the company used the ENCORE tool, conducted internal and external questionnaires, and developed a nature dependency and impact assessment matrix. Through this process, Joyson Electronics assessed how its value chain depends on natural resources and how it may affect the natural environment, identifying 3 material nature-related dependencies and 4 material nature-related impacts.

  • Under the Assess phase, Joyson Electronics applied pathway analysis based on the material dependencies and impacts identified in the previous phase. This enabled the company to further assess potential nature-related risks and opportunities, as well as their possible business and financial implications.

  • Under the Prepare phase, the company considered its priority sites and material nature-related risks and opportunities to develop corresponding risk management strategies and nature-related targets. These efforts formed the basis for the publication of Joyson Electronics’ first Nature-related Disclosures Report.

Joyson Electronics continues to mitigate and manage nature-related risks through ecological protection, environmental management, pollution prevention and control, ecological restoration, and improved resource efficiency. At the same time, the company is exploring opportunities to transition toward more nature-positive business practices, working with stakeholders to support biodiversity conservation and the sustainable management of ecosystems.

Looking ahead, Joyson Electronics will continue to use innovation and technological progress to reduce its dependence on natural resources and minimize its environmental impact. Together with partners across its value chain, the company aims to contribute to a future in which business development and nature can thrive together.
